Thai Koon Group attended the “SSI Green Steel Supply Chain Forum 2026” held at Grande Centre Point Surawong Bangkok. The event brought together key business partners across the steel supply chain and provided an opportunity to congratulate SSI on the successful launch of the first low-carbon steel products in Thailand, produced from zero-emission slabs. The forum also reflected a shared commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions through a greener supply chain network.
On Wednesday, 18 February, Mr. Sanguan Sakunworaratana, Chief Executive Officer of the Thai Koon Group, was honored to receive an invitation from Mr. Win Wiriyaprapaikij, Group Chief Executive Officer of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI), to attend the “SSI Green Steel Supply Chain Forum 2026” at Grand Centre Point Surawong Bangkok, Bangkok. The event marked the official announcement of Thailand’s first successful production and delivery of low-carbon hot-rolled coil steel. It also featured the launch of “SSI GREEN,” the company’s environmentally friendly steel product line, aimed at advancing the green steel supply chain and supporting the nation’s Net Zero targets. The forum brought together representatives from 19 partner organizations across the steel industry value chain, all of whom jointly expressed their commitment to driving Thailand’s steel industry toward a low-carbon economy.
One of the key highlights was the delivery of low-carbon steel products manufactured from low-carbon emission steel slabs under the JGreeX™ platform of JFE Steel Corporation to the Thai Koon Group. This milestone clearly reflects the capability of Thailand’s steel industry to develop and commercially deploy low-carbon steel products in a tangible manner, while simultaneously enhancing environmental transparency and strengthening competitiveness amid increasingly stringent global environmental standards.
On this occasion, the Thai Koon Group would like to express its sincere appreciation to Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI) for the opportunity to be part of advancing Thailand’s Green Steel Supply Chain. This initiative begins with the Lanna Regenerative Elephant Skywalk project, which is set to demonstrate that “innovation” and “nature” can grow together sustainably and in an environmentally friendly manner. The achievement is driven by products developed through improved production processes, the use of clean energy, recycling and upcycling practices, and the application of circular economy principles to deliver low-carbon steel products, along with environmental label certifications. This success has been made possible through the strong collaboration of partners across the entire supply chain, working together to elevate Thailand’s steel industry toward sustainable competitiveness.
