On Friday, June 27, 2025, the executives and staff of THAI KOON GROUP made history as the first in Thailand’s steel industry to receive the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2025 in the Green Leadership category for the project “THAI KOON x PiN For Thai Elephants: Elephant Hope Lantern.”
The “Elephant Hope” project is a collaboration between THAI KOON GROUP and PiN For Thai Elephants, using scrap metal from the production process to create beautifully crafted elephant-shaped lanterns with profound meaning. The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of Thai elephant conservation while generating income to support elephants with food, medical care, and safe habitats.
“THAI KOON has come this far because the brand reflects the THAI KOON DNA: Beyond Good Steel.” This does not only refer to high-quality steel, but also represents the organization’s commitment to doing “better” for society and the environment. This award affirms that Thailand’s steel industry can move forward sustainably by blending creativity, recycled materials, and a heart for social impact. “Space Shelter” — a prototype developed under the “Lunar Habitat Project”, through a collaboration with the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China.
On 1 September 2026, THAI KOON participated in a collaborative event held at Hat Yai Hall, Central Hatyai, Songkhla, where the company was presented with a certificate recognizing its participation and contribution to a broader social initiative.
